Weekend Update

What a weekend! It was the first weekend in SEVEN that I had off. (Actually, semi-off...I still had a Pooh show Sat. morning) After the show, the parents picked Bergstrom and I up and we headed to Galveston, San Leon to be exact. It was my dad's birthday and we celebrated it at my brother's company's bay house in San Leon. You get all that? It was great. No agenda except eating, of course, and tons of fresh air.

For dinner that night, my mom had made reservations at Gaidos. It's the oldest restaurant in Galveston. 99 years old, I think. Very nice and very expensive. I ordered this yummy Crab Au Gratin. It was rich and creamy and tasted extra yum with the toasted bread. I was a little bummed out about my SEVEN vegetables. Come on people...we're in America, the land of bathtub-size portions. HA! jk.

After dinner we spent the rest of the evening and most of the next day relaxing in the beautiful, bay house. It was totally decked out with granite counter tops, a flat-screen, hand painted pictures, the list could go on. We spent most of the time on the dock fishing. At around 9:30 p.m. we FINALLY got the guys to come in to sing Happy Birthday and eat cake.

Jason was an expert fisherman. He fished a little when he was younger, but it had been a long time since. Boy, did he win the prize for craziest catches. He got a few red fish, a huge flounder and this stingray:

It was a good thing Mom and I weren't on the dock when it was caught. We, for sure, would have been screaming our heads off. Look at that thing. The scariest part was that my Dad had to get the hook out of it's mouth. Luckily, no one, or stingray, was harmed in the fishing of this family. We had a great time relaxing and spending time with the family.
